Of the 1.8 million Aussies living with diabetes, around 700,000 of them also experience mental or emotional health challenges. Often there is a stigma associated with diabetes, but no one chooses to have diabetes and it can be life-threatening.
It’s time to rethink how we view diabetes – we need to support and empower people to seek help and take action if they think they may have diabetes.
